I don't see any shake ups in the top 6 anytime soon: PokerStars, Full Tilt, Ongame, iPoker, Party and Everest have those spots well secured.
Absolute/Ultimate could compete with these if they merged their rooms together while still keeping the software the same for each.
Beyond that It would take to much for a new room to pass someone. I can't think of a major acquisition that would do much other than secure lower spots on the top 10.
I think long terms the only one I would consider on the radar right now is the Cake Poker Network. They would have to continue to do a lot right, but if they began bringing on multi lingual websites I could see them competing with the top 6 but that would be a while away.
PKR is doing quite well for their niche. I'm surprised how well actually, but I don't see them close to competing with the big guys anytime soon.
Nothing else is even close to being on my radar but I would guess that if something big happened in the next year it would involve Pacific Poker getting aggressive with acquisitions or them being purchased by another large company who is aggressive in acquisitions.
